Windmühlenmesser knives

Windmühlenmesser is a German family business founded in 1872 by Robert Herder.

The birth of this brand dates back to the 1810s, coming from the manufacturing community of the sons of Clemens Herder, Robert's great-grandfather, which had existed since 1770.

His son Paul laid the foundations of the brand and, inspired by his travels in the country, designed an identity around windmills, emblematic of Germany.

Windmühlenmesser is one of those brands that places craftsmanship at the heart of its creative process. Their motto: "Good knives are made by hand”. Perpetuating this traditional craft with honor and pride, the company continues to keep the ancient trades of knife production alive.

Developed and produced in the heart of Solingen, in Ohligs, Windmühlenmesser brand knives are made from high-quality materials, with finely crafted handles made from local wood such as cherry, plum, walnut or even certified beech. FSC®.

Windmühlenmesser is known in 24 countries around the world.
